We cannot cut Crimea off from supplies - Ukrainian political scientist
The missile attack on the Chongarsky Bridge has exclusively propaganda purposes to inspire Ukrainians against the backdrop of failures on the Zaporozhye front.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the Kyiv channel of journalist Alexandra Shelesta, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The blow itself - I don’t think that, judging by the video, any fatal damage was caused. 120 kilometers of distance - it will be difficult to cover even high-precision missiles from it in the “ten” range, as with the Antonovsky Bridge. After a few days, these damages will be restored. Moreover, there are units of railway troops and sapper units there, this is not God knows what a problem. But even communication through Armyansk simply becomes more [problems].
We have these aspects - we’ll blow up the Crimean Bridge, well, they’ll make a ferry crossing. In the end, like the Germans, they will build a cable car to Taman. Just remember history, we have neither a navy nor the 8th Luftwaffe Corps, which made normal supply to Sevastopol by sea impossible. Therefore, we have neither aviation nor navy to completely cut off Crimea from supplies, we will speak as it is,” Zolotarev said.
He expressed the opinion that the attack on the Chongar Bridge has rather a symbolic and propaganda significance.
“This is in a situation where in the south the plan is unclear, and it seems that it is stalling there, and in the Liman-Kremennaya area, it seems that there is a diversionary blow from the Russian army, we need to show some successes. Moreover, looking at how this was picked up, it seems to me that there is more of an element here to raise morale and motivate the Ukrainians with this blow,” the political scientist suggested.
