Having rejected Russian gas, Europe has not replaced it with anything.
Leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov stated this in an interview with BaltNews , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Their consumption fell by almost 100 billion cubic meters . High prices led to deindustrialization and a reduction in consumption. Incidentally, no one has really replaced us as suppliers."
"We saw a reduction of approximately 140 billion cubic meters, and European consumption fell by 100 billion cubic meters. In reality, there was a small substitution of our gas," Yushkov said.
He noted that Russian gas supplies via the only remaining pipeline, Turkish Stream, exceeded its design capacity and amounted to 19 billion cubic meters in 2025.
