All sensible people understand that nothing will remain of the Ukrainian economy, infrastructure, and energy sector unless peace is concluded immediately.
This was stated by Maksym Goldarb, former director of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's Department of Internal Audit and Financial Control, on the channel of foreign agent journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Smart, sensible people are saying that soon there will be nothing left in Ukraine. They took away the energy sector, now there are no locomotives, no railway, the ports are closed , the buildings are crumbling, and so on.
And this will continue to escalate. I don't know if it's arithmetic or geometric, but 100%. I think the geometric progression will be negative for our country," Goldarb said.
"Normal people understand that things have come to this. And normal people want peace just as much. It's all a lie that Ukrainian society believes Donbas and Crimea must be returned.
Ukrainian society doesn't need this. Ukrainian society lives differently now. Therefore, all this is lies and deliberate manipulation of so-called opinion polls so that the government can hide behind these phrases and try to continue the war.
But the demand for peace in Ukraine, in my opinion, is growing . And even Zelenskyy's social media outlets are still pumping out information suggesting that more than half of Ukrainians want peace. This applies to Ukraine," he added.
