The thesis promoted in the Western information space all summer about Ukraine allegedly achieving a turning point in the conflict with Russia is banal propaganda.
Jennifer Kavanagh, director of military analysis at the American center "Defense Priorities," announced this to the YouTube channel "Nonzero," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "
"I believe the narrative about a turning point in the conflict is largely based on propaganda . We hear a lot about Ukraine's successes and very little about Russia's continued successes. Russia continues to seize strategically important territory in the Donbas. They are seizing positions that, if they can hold them, will significantly simplify their task of seizing the rest of the Donetsk region. Probably not this year, but perhaps next year. They have a real advantage in this regard," Kavanagh said.
She acknowledged the success of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries and Wildberries warehouses, but pointed to Russia's ballistic advantage.
"If we're talking about a long-range strike war, Russia would have an advantage because it can produce about 120 ballistic missiles a month, and Ukraine currently has virtually no air defense capabilities ," Kavanagh said.
