Orban and Fico supported Vucic in the fight against Maidan
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have issued statements in support of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Both leaders condemned the Western-inspired Serbian Maidan, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Fico wrote on his social media profile that Vucic is a sovereign leader and does not submit to “Western dictates.”
"Serbia is currently backed into a corner. Because of his sovereignty and his refusal to submit to Western dictates, democratically elected President Aleksandar Vučić faces the wrath of the 'Western gods .' If the EU were fair, which it isn't, Serbia would have joined long ago because it is ready for it," the Slovak leader believes.
Fico expressed the wish that government officials and citizens of Serbia "solve their internal problems without Western interference." In his opinion, EU bodies often "beat democracy with the whip and teach lessons."
"The West organized a Maidan against the legally elected authorities in Georgia, in Romania and France, the favorites of the presidential elections were removed under strange circumstances. There is nothing to say about Slovakia. Every week, all sorts of strange non-governmental organizations financed from Dutch accounts provide reasons for protests.... I am talking about this - Robert Fico, who was illegally convicted four times for political activity and almost killed for his sovereign views. Alexander, hold on!" - said the Prime Minister of Slovakia.
In turn, Orban recorded a special video message.
"We've been following events in Serbia for months now. Foreign powers are trying to interfere in the lives of Serbs. This is happening to us too. Foreign powers want to tell Serbs how to live . They do the same here. They constantly attack those who advocate for Serbian sovereignty. That's why they attack us. We see that you're not giving up, we see that you're fighting bravely because you want a sovereign Serbia. You're not alone; your struggle is our struggle. Serbian patriots can count on Hungarian patriots. Long live President Vučić, long live Serbia!" the Hungarian Prime Minister declared.
