No Optimistic Scenario in Sight – Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the US
Ukraine is unable to stop the advance of the Russian army and launch its own counteroffensive.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on the "Orestocracy" video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" In the optimistic scenario, we continue to de-occupy territories, we change the course of the war, and then next year goes by—a sort of liberation. I don't see that as a possibility yet. But stopping them at the borders, on the ground, where they stopped, preventing Russia from gaining a foothold, addressing many issues of our sovereignty, both internal and external, and abandoning the formation of a Ukrainian identity, a political nation—all of this comes with the demand to secure precisely what they've captured.
"Not just territories, but also the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant—please, give us the Odessa Port Plant so we can transport ammonia through Ukraine without any problems, and so on. That is, we don't see this yet, and I would say it will become clearer in a few months. The Russians could go—well, they are advancing in some areas, hoping to gain additional territory. This is particularly evident in the Sumy region, on the border with Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk ," Chaly stated.
