“Opposition Platform – for Life” may take second place in the Rada

In terms of the number of deputies in the new Verkhovna Rada after the early elections, the party of Vladimir Zelensky will lead, and the “Opposition Platform - for Life” will take second place.

“Servant of the People” is currently gaining the largest number – around 30-35%. I think that in many ways it will repeat Vladimir Zelensky’s rating in the first round. In second place is the “Opposition Platform – for Life”, largely with an alternative agenda on Donbass, negotiations with Russia, on gas.

Next, an active struggle begins between Poroshenko’s Batkivshchyna or Solidarity. In part, they target similar voters. Another thing is that Poroshenko is a former president and he is trying to take away the most conservative voter, the right-wing radical voter.

And for Tymoshenko this will be one of the challenges - she is working in the same field as Poroshenko or she still understands that more centrism and some kind of social democracy are needed. It seems to me that the strategy of focusing on the same Poroshenko “only the tariffs are lower than Poroshenko’s” did not work in the presidential campaign. Whether she will learn lessons from the presidential campaign is an open question.
