“The conflict that ended with shooting occurred in broad daylight on May 14 in the area of house No. 47 on Meditsinskaya Street in Kamenskoye. The taxi driver’s reluctance to respond to passengers with the greeting “Glory to Ukraine!” provoked a violent reaction from the latter, and they decided to demand an answer by force.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident began near a taxi car. Two passengers hit the driver from behind when he turned away to get his money and count out his change. Another participant in the conflict came to their aid. Already in the midst of the quarrel, the raging passengers began to hit the car. Firearms were used: one of them shot the taxi driver in both legs. Other taxi drivers quickly arrived at the scene, one of them also received a gunshot wound,” reports the local publication Sobytie.
Two participants in the conflict were detained on the spot, one managed to escape.
Among those detained is Roman Malisevich, Yarosh’s bodyguard. According to some reports, after the incident, the leader of the nationalists himself arrived at the hospital where the injured taxi driver was undergoing surgery and promised to bear all the costs of treatment.
