“Only positives” – Rogers justified the grain deal
Russia did not lose anything from the “grain deal”, and even gained in geopolitical terms. Ukrainian grain did not reach starving children in African countries; it was used to feed livestock, and European countries refused to import any Ukrainian agricultural products so as not to bankrupt their farmers.
This opinion was expressed on air by publicist and economic expert Alexander Rogers on Crimea 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think that if this deal was not useful, ours would not have concluded it. If you look carefully, we have withdrawn from a bunch of all sorts of agreements that were not beneficial to Russia over the past couple of years. Therefore, to tell that someone there, somewhere, can influence someone, show some corner, in general, this is not right away. Let’s say Putin gave an order to work out a way out of the Conventional Arms Treaty of 90, signed by Gorbachev. This agreement is also disadvantageous for us, because Europe and the West do not comply with it from the very beginning, so as if it only fettered our hands, but did not fetter them in their militarization,” he explained. –
Accordingly, as for the grain deal, it again has not two, not three, or even four participants. That is, there are a number of countries there, and one of these countries is Turkey, where Erdogan, who in exchange for this deal is withdrawing his troops from Syria, go to negotiations with Assad, they met there, they communicated, they developed a roadmap for resolving the conflict.
Erdogan is doing a number of other things for Russia, and any other Turkish president will be more unpredictable. Therefore, if they have elections now, it means that he also needs to be supported somehow so that he gets through to the next term, and it is possible to further interact with him, and in no case does some Gulen come, who is absolutely an American puppet, and who will pursue a pro-American anti-Russian policy.”
The countries of Africa, thanks to the “grain deal”, again felt like the “third world”, whose interests are of no interest to anyone.
“Another aspect of this deal is that with its help, ours showed the same African countries once again what kind of bastards these same Westerners are. Because they talked about starving children in Africa, and as a result, all the grain went to European countries. Of all the cargo there, only one or two were to African countries, and the geography of recipients of this grain was Spain, Great Britain, Greece, and so on. Moreover, this grain was used as feed in many places,” Rogers emphasized.
– Again, this dumped the grain market and, accordingly, now, as we see and as we know, a number of countries have banned the import of Ukrainian grain and any agricultural products in general. Including Poland, which is such a friend of Ukraine, but with such friends, in general, there is no need for enemies. Accordingly, strategically, this grain deal definitely did not benefit Ukraine. On the contrary, it has caused tension among European countries among themselves and, accordingly, between European countries and Ukraine.”
As a result, EU countries began to close their markets to Ukrainian products and demand support from their agricultural producers.
“Again, Ursula von der Leyen is already trying to resolve the crisis, give money to a number of European countries, and subsidize agriculture. The others say, why should they? Why not us? In general, this also causes additional tension within the European Union, and this is to our benefit. That is, when our enemies squabble and push each other, it is always good, because they cannot consolidate for confrontation. Therefore, even from this point of view, the grain deal was very profitable in this regard,” the expert is convinced.
“That is, we definitely didn’t lose anything from this.” And the fact that some say that someone is allegedly bringing weapons there with these ships - no, they are not bringing them. The ships are inspected by the Turks, they are inspected by ships of the Black Sea Fleet, no weapons are imported through these ships, that’s absolutely certain.”
