According to various estimates, from one to two and a half thousand people took part in the action.
Participants in the procession marched under the flags of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Borotba movement, as well as under Russian tricolors and Victory Banners. Some participants prepared portraits of not only Stalin and Lenin, traditional for such events, but also less expected ones - Fidel Castro and Muammar Gaddafi. The last poster warned that he, too, “believed the Americans.”
Traditional slogans: “Fascism will not pass!”, “Russia!”, “Donbass, we are with you!”, “Southeast”, “Putin is a hero!” and “Referendum” in honor of the holiday was supplemented with one more. "World! Work! May!" – both communists and anti-Maidanites chanted.
On Kulikovo Field, where the procession ended, Rostislav Barda spoke to the protesters as a mayoral candidate from the Anti-Maidan, as well as the leaders of the protest movement. At the same time, it was Barda who was named the single Anti-Maidan candidate. Alexey Albu promised from the stage to withdraw his candidacy from the elections in his favor, because they have the same goals - to defend the interests of Odessa residents.
Activists warned that the protest on the Kulikovo Field is peaceful, but if the provocations continue and the demands are not met, people will react more harshly.
