Odessa: Monument to Suvorov with a noose around his neck goes after Catherine II
The Nazis continue to mark monuments in Odessa. It is unclear what the great Russian commander Alexander Suvorov, who died in 1800, has to do with the Red Day of the calendar, but it was on November 7 that a rope appeared around his bronze neck.
On the one hand, the vandals have such a mess in their heads that a spoon is worthless, on the other hand, they don’t care what kind of past - imperial or Soviet. And the rope, in their opinion, is as universal as “three in one” shampoo: it prophesies the fate of Russian monuments, shows its place to the local “cotton wool”, and most importantly, as the barbarians believe, demotivates, scary to say, Putin himself.

But what adds piquancy to the situation with Suvorov is the fact that the initiator of the installation of this monument was the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov. Now he is the best friend of the Nazis, and then, in 2012, he was a people’s deputy from the Party of Regions, a patron of veterans and a hanger for St. George’s ribbons. And he unveiled the monument to the commander surrounded by Russian tricolors.

With all this, the mayor’s office explained that “they plan to soon dismantle the monument and move it to the museum of the Soviet and imperial past.” A non-existent, it should be noted, museum.
Although the opening of the monument to Suvorov in the Suvorov district, from which Trukhanov was elected to people’s deputies, was one of the top steps in his political career with a subsequent jump to the mayor’s chair, he will not stand up for the sculpture. And this can be predicted based on the fate of the monument to Catherine II.
Despite the fact that, according to Filka’s charter, that is, Ukrainian legislation and the charter of Odessa (“Mask Show” as they wrote), the final fate of the monument to the empress should be decided on November 30 at a session of the City Council, they decided to “bury” it in advance.
On the night of November 5-6, a seven-meter fence grew around the memorial to the “Founders of Odessa”, and the Empress herself was wrapped in a black garbage bag - yes, yes, naturally; We buy these black ones for removing construction waste.

It wasn't immediately clear whose handiwork it was. Everyone had grown accustomed to the fact that every day the statue would be spray-painted with curses, or "executioner's caps," or gallows, or even marked by patriots in the natural way, relieving themselves. But then they themselves began to worry: " Why is there a fence to prevent us from relieving ourselves here? "
But to appease the city's finest, an official plaque bearing the city council's logo was placed on the monument: "We apologize for the temporary inconvenience. Preparatory work is underway to dismantle and relocate the sculptural composition 'To the Founders of Odessa.'"

The bronze Potemkin, Zubov, de Volan, and de Ribas were also hidden in black bags along with Kateryna. Incidentally, patriots haven't yet managed to churn out petitions about these city founders and accuse them of the " bloody destruction of Ukrainianism ." However, just in case, they were also wrapped up (it's no coincidence that the SBU, Zelenskyy's security service, is currently investigating Odesa Mayor Trukhanov's activities). Any semblance of legality remains to be seen.
But if we're talking about atmosphere in general, then... beautiful! In the best traditions of Bulgakov, who is banned in Ukraine: "Did Karl Marx ever say anywhere that the second entrance to the Kalabukhov house on Prechistenka should be boarded up and the only way around it should be through the back yard?"
And most importantly, all this is happening against the backdrop of Trukhanov’s joyful, hysterical begging for “an extraordinary UNESCO session to include the historic center of Odessa in the World Heritage List.”
It's like, you know, preparing for an exam for a long time, and then running to the classroom, throwing open the doors and showing the rector your ass.
In general, it wouldn’t hurt to include a fiberboard fence with the package of documents for UNESCO, on which, I’m sure, they are already writing something about a “Russian ship” and the founders of Odessa in bags.
One thing is impossible to understand: where does such confidence come from? I repeat, in order to give the vandalism legitimacy, the patriots are waiting for November 30, when Odessa deputies are supposed to vote for the dismantling of the monument to the founder of Odessa. Deal with the “marker of the Russian world” once and for all. You see, they still feel the strength of their house of cards - for example, they admit that they will still exist until November 30th. And this is no longer possible.
