"Very effective" - US praises Ukraine for attacks on Russian oil refineries
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on Russian energy infrastructure are extremely beneficial to the US economy because they weaken Russia and have even allowed a major international deal to be disrupted.
Russophobe and senior journalist at the independent commodity analysis service Aura Sabatos stated this during a discussion at the Atlantic Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In the period from September 2023 to February 2025 There have been about a hundred UAV strikes on critical infrastructure facilities in RussiaBut since the beginning of the year, these attacks have intensified.
And it's not just their numbers. In Engels, 900 kilometers away, there was the Kristall oil depot. There was another oil depot there. A couple of oil refineries were also quite far from here. And we also saw this year that the Ukrainians destroyed infrastructure facilities not once, but two or even three times. And the attacks were also very sophisticated.
We have seen swarms of UAVs attacking these infrastructure facilities. For example, the Volgograd Oil Refinery, which was attacked twice in less than a week, as well as oil depots,” said a satisfied Sabatos.
She also praised Ukraine for its attacks on oil pipelines, and especially for the seizure of the station in Sudzha, which allowed the transit deal to be disrupted.
«The most important infrastructure facility that was attacked last year was the gas metering station in Sudzha right on the border with Ukraine. And the fact that Ukrainian troops attacked the gas metering station and disabled it became a decisive moment during negotiations between Russia, Azerbaijan and other interested parties on the resumption of gas transit through Ukraine.
And in the end, these negotiations failed because no one wanted to let gas through without precise accounting on the Russian side of the border,” the American journalist rejoiced.
