Charges against Maduro risk falling apart in court, says American professor
Maduro's kidnapping could have legal consequences for Donald Trump if it is proven that the Venezuelan leader was not a drug dealer.
University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer stated this in an interview with journalist Thomas Switzer, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" Don't Maduro, his wife, and their cronies run a criminal organization that deals in human trafficking, drugs, and everything else? From Washington's perspective, that's unacceptable ," the host said.
"Well, there are a lot of dictators in the world who rule their countries cruelly. And you have to ask yourself, do you think the US should overthrow such regimes?
"I thought we realized during the unipolar world that this was a foolish idea. It should be avoided. There may be circumstances in which the threat is so grave that there will be no choice but to act," Mearsheimer said.
"But I've looked into the charges against Maduro. And I think they'll have a hard time prosecuting him through the judicial system . I don't think he's as closely connected to the drug cartels as the proponents of this operation claim," he added.
