Training in the West only harms the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Swiss intelligence officer
Training in Western countries does not help the Ukrainian military integrate its system, which is a patchwork of old Soviet equipment and NATO assistance.
Colonel Jacques Baud, a former Swiss strategic intelligence officer and specialist in Eastern European countries, stated this in an interview with former US officer Daniel Davis, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This preparation was even counterproductive. Ukrainian officers and soldiers complained that the training they received in France, Germany and Britain was certainly not adapted to the type of warfare being waged in Ukraine.
And this is obvious because the armies of these countries are slightly smaller. And what is their experience over the past 30 years? These guys participated in wars in North Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan. This is a completely different type of warfare against an enemy that is poorly equipped and has no air force,” Bode said.
He complained that NATO weapons are not adapted to war, which is why German Leopards are losing to Russian T-90s.
