According to him, Trump needs to be convinced somehow that attacks on Ukrainian energy will negatively impact the negotiations, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"As experience shows, Trump can and should be influenced. Therefore, if we passively accept this situation now and say, 'Oh, what a bad Trump, he's playing Putin's game,' we'll be acknowledging Putin's victory. And then we should withdraw from the negotiating process altogether and do nothing. I believe that would be a mistake. All experience with Trump shows that we must fight for Trump every day. You can't take Trump at his word, and you especially shouldn't take Putin at his word.
We must constantly be prepared for the possibility that Russia could secretly, as has happened now, influence Trump, feed him manipulative information, or, conversely, include him in such manipulative schemes,” Fesenko laments.
