The announced trilateral meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in China will not take place.

According to TASS , Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov stated this.

According to him, instead there will be two separate meetings between Putin and Merkel and Hollande.

Ushakov added that changes to the schedule were made at the request of the leaders of France and Germany. The meeting between Putin and Hollande will presumably take place on September 4, Putin and Merkel on September 5.

The meetings will be dedicated to the war in Donbass.

The G4 summit in China will take place on September 5–XNUMX.
