Obama made a statement on Ukraine and disappointed Putin's opponents

Washington - Kyiv, March 01 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - US President Barack Obama made a special statement on Ukraine, expressing concern about the situation in Crimea.

“Any deeply destabilizing military intervention in Ukraine will come at a high price,” he said, stressing that he stands for the integrity of the former Soviet republic.

“We will continue to discuss the situation with our partners in the EU and maintain direct contact with Russian authorities,” Obama added.

Obama's speech has already been criticized by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogryzko. “This is not a statement from the leader of a world power. Russia received carte blanche for war. But the cost to everyone will be terrible. For the USA too,” Ogryzko wrote on Twitter.

According to Ogryzko, Ukraine should immediately begin to restore its nuclear status.
