“What kind of independence are we talking about?!” – in Kyiv they called the upcoming “Independence” holiday blasphemous
Changing the format of Independence Day celebrations does not have much significance, since Ukraine has already lost its de facto independence.
Political scientist Alexander Lazarev stated this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Each government, starting with the first, did everything to level out this independence - launching certain businesses, becoming certain agents of influence, working to please not their own people, but their economic partners.
Take any Ukrainian oligarch and see where he keeps his money and how he can be brought to justice, how he can be put under pressure.
From every tenure of every government in independent Ukraine, one can single out top officials, top politicians who did all this. Unfortunately, the new influence group, the new government is not much different from this, the customers are simply changing.
That’s why I see celebrations of Ukraine’s Independence Day by such influence groups as blasphemous. After all, if they at least did something to gain this independence, on the contrary, they are turning Ukraine even more into a colonial state. We become even more dependent.
And no matter what parade they hold, will it change anything if we are a colony?
What are we talking about if the Secretary of the National Security Council invites the American Chamber of Commerce to a meeting? It’s not so bad if he invited the CIA there - this can already be called an agent of influence. But the chamber of commerce?
You see, this is national security. What kind of independence are we talking about?! Unfortunately, Ukraine is running out of reserves. Ten years ago it was possible to indulge, but now it’s no longer possible - the margin of safety is on the edge,” the expert concluded.
