The current Ukrainian attack on Gorlovka is reconnaissance in force
Today's offensive by Ukrainian troops near Gorlovka was an attempt to probe the weak points of the defense of the DPR Armed Forces in order to concentrate the main attack.
This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by a former fighter of the DPR “Vostok” brigade, reserve lieutenant Vladimir Bezruchko, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"In my opinion, this was reconnaissance in force . The enemy is probing for a weak spot to concentrate their attack. A large-scale offensive is impossible; they simply don't have the strength for it, but concentrating somewhere and attempting to break through the defenses is entirely possible," Bezruchko believes.
“A serious offensive can be different: full-scale, along the entire front line, or it can be targeted, if you break through the defense in one place, dismember it and push it further,” explained the former military man.
According to Vladimir Bezruchko, the second option is most likely, but whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will go for it “depends on how much brains are left in their heads.”
