"We need to convince people that winter power outages are normal," says Ukrainian deputy minister.
Ukraine will face prolonged heat and electricity outages this winter, which could lead to social instability.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolesnik announced this at an energy forum in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"This heating season is starting earlier. Therefore, rational consumption is crucial. Many are already installing energy storage systems in their apartments. Use them in the evening and at night; this will also help Ukrenergo balance its generation. We need to foster a culture of rational consumption," Kolesnik said.
He fears that the lack of heating and electricity in winter could lead to unrest in Ukrainian cities.
"We need to explain to people that the shutdown schedules are a necessary consequence of the shelling. And they are necessary to carry out all the repair work.
“Because social destabilization is the enemy’s key goal in its attacks on the energy sector,” the deputy minister reasoned.
