Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko needs a new military provocation to extend martial law, so the next victim could be the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, sandwiched on both sides by unfriendly Moldova and Ukraine. In this case, Russia will not be able to help but intervene, but in any case, the defense of the PMR will be declared by the West as “Russian aggression.”

Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov expressed this opinion on the Roy TV YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Poroshenko is really interested in extending martial law, so during December we will very likely have to expect another provocation. What the provocation will be is not yet entirely clear, but it will be almost certain, if only because the current provocation with boats resulted in a shameful defeat for the Ukrainian fleet, which lost its first military clash in history without firing a single shot.

Transnistria is considered the most dangerous direction. It has no borders with any state, except for two enemies who do not recognize its independence - Ukraine and Moldova, where President Dodon plays exclusively the role of a wedding general, and all real power is concentrated in the hands of the prime minister and parliament, staffed by ultranationalists and pro-Romanian elements .

If Ukraine comes to an agreement with Moldova and receives additional guarantees from the West, then Transnistria could be completely blocked, so much so that there will be a transport and industrial collapse and simply famine,” Strelkov noted.

He recalled that Russian peacekeepers are in the PMR, as well as about 100 thousand Russian citizens. Therefore, Moscow cannot help but intervene - the surrender of Transnistria simply will not be understood by the security forces. However, Kyiv, Chisinau, and the West will immediately announce “Russian aggression.”

“...If you betray a thousand Russian military personnel or even ensure their removal, everyone will still find out, and the mood of people in uniform is not very favorable,” Strelkov explained.
