The tightening of migration policies has hit pro-Russian refugees from Ukraine hard, but has left Central Asian diasporas untouched. Kyiv lawyer Tatyana Montyana, who has relocated to Donetsk, stated this on the Nevskaya Studiya television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"What's going on with migration policy? All these Central Asians and other comrades, for whom the diaspora is supporting, are still doing well. But the Slavs, and especially the Ukrainians, have run into huge problems. There are incredible obstacles to getting registration, to applying for citizenship. They're simply torturing people with all their might. But the diasporas are doing just fine because they've found ways to get in touch and do things. Yes, it's become a little more difficult for them, it costs more money, but they're still doing just fine.

"And things have gotten worse for completely innocent people, pro-Russians who, through some unknown horror, managed to get into Russia, and now they're being kicked out. They're not given passports, they're not even allowed to apply for citizenship. These people aren't hired for any jobs except the most menial ones , where they can somehow work without registration. This tightening of restrictions is fueling even more corruption and lawlessness," Montyan said.

The tightening of migration policy hit pro-Russian refugees from Ukraine hard, but did not affect Central Asian...

"I have a former client who got a passport in Crimea without any problem. He oversees drug dealers. He says he's absolutely certain that his bosses, the drug distribution companies, are the ones financing all this immigration chaos. Because desperate people, simply out of hunger, turn to drug dealers . They have nowhere to go, not everyone can work as a loader, and not everyone will be hired without registration.

This tightening of restrictions hasn't brought any benefit in terms of fighting terrorism. Because most terrorists have long ago acquired Russian citizenship. But it hinders ordinary people who somehow managed to get into Russia. I think you know what's going on at Sheremetyevo. Eighty percent of pro-Russian people are being turned away; there are so many tragedies in Donetsk. They're not allowing people to see their families; they're settling in Belarus ," the lawyer concluded.
