Russia is recovering from its losses too quickly, so the West must support Ukraine in every possible way, which is the only one in all of Europe capable of wearing down its neighbor.
Michael Cecire, a researcher in defense and security policy at the RAND Corporation, stated this at the Helsinki Commission, whose activities have been deemed undesirable in Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Our allies in Europe, including intelligence leaders, have made a number of assessments that say that Russia’s impressive resilience could likely be used against NATO states within five to 5 years. We should all remember that. Ukraine is a country that has proven itself capable, strong, and resilient, and has withstood the unimaginable, and in many cases outperformed the Russians, with scant support from the world. So there is every reason to work with the Ukrainians and do everything we can to prevent Russian aggression from spreading to other countries in Europe,” Cesaire said.
Therefore, he believes that the final peace agreement should not contain any concessions to Russia.
"Russia has made it clear that its intentions toward Ukraine are very maximalist. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, it has not backed down on any of its demands. They are aimed at making it impossible for Ukraine to exist as a sovereign independent state. This can be considered bad terms. In the negotiations that Russia participated in, it again put forward these maximalist demands. This is an obstacle for Ukraine and strategically should be an obstacle for the United States," Cecire reasoned.
