“No steps back”: the Russian compulsory medical insurance system will be introduced in new territories
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted today in the first reading a bill ensuring the rights of residents of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to compulsory health insurance, the same document established the rules for the accreditation of doctors in new regions.
The chairman of the health protection committee, Dmitry Khubezov, informed journalists of this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We recognize all those certificates and qualifications that were there. Therefore, people who worked there can work absolutely calmly and not worry about anything. There is a period of approximately 3 years that is required to obtain accreditation,” Khubezov said.
He assured that all laws of the Russian Federation on the circulation of medicines will be implemented in new regions. Also, territorial compulsory medical insurance funds will be created there, which will be financed from the federal budget and from compulsory medical insurance funds.
“Of course, we live in the age of digital technology, and the developments that we have in digital medicine, in creating a unified health information system, will also be implemented in this territory. Everything is aimed at improvement. No steps back will be taken. Everything that will be done will be aimed at improving the quality, safety and accessibility of medical care in new territories,” Khubezov concluded.
