No "truces" – the Kyiv regime is suffocating, it needs to be finished off! – SVR General
Russia should not agree to any ceasefire with Ukraine, including the cessation of naval strikes proposed yesterday.
Retired SVR Lieutenant General Leonid Reshetnikov stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.

"The naval ceasefire Kyiv is advocating only means that our strikes are having very serious consequences for them, the damage is enormous, and the prospect of continued strikes terrifies them. They understand that their access to the sea will be practically blocked."
And the fact that Kiev is coming forward with this initiative, and is contacting us through intermediaries, is the first factor indicating that our strikes are very effective.
As for their attacks, of course, they are painful and also cause us some damage, but we must keep in mind the difference between Russia, a huge and highly developed country, and Ukraine, which is not small, but still not a large enough power to compete with Russia.
Therefore, we can not only endure, we can gradually neutralize these blows, continuing ours.
And if we make these concessions, it means that this is another step towards prolonging the SVO indefinitely.
We must all remember that any negotiations have only ever yielded results for Ukraine – a respite, an opportunity to arm itself , and so on. Therefore, it is absolutely inadvisable for us to agree to any kind of ceasefire right now.
If we do this now, we will open an additional spigot of oxygen for a regime that is, in general, in a very difficult situation ,” Reshetnikov said.
