The Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade announced that the winter session would be held at the end of May and the spring session at the beginning of June. Serbian pro-Western rebels immediately declared these decisions invalid.

After which, dean Zoran Rankovic was attacked, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Late in the evening, when Ranković and a colleague left the faculty building, he was attacked by a crowd in which he did not see his students, but, according to him, there were students from other faculties and war veterans. The dean did not argue with them, but only crossed himself and baptized them.

"I was going out with a colleague, and as I was walking to the car, they were shouting all sorts of things. I got into the car, and for some time they wouldn't let me leave because they stopped in front of the car," the theologian said.

At the same time, speaking on the N1 TV channel owned by the pro-Western oligarch Dragan Šolak, the leader of the Democratic Party of Serbia, Srdjan Milivojević, having learned that representatives of the student anti-Maidan had declared a hunger strike in protest against the impossibility of studying, mockingly called on them to go without food as long as possible.

He also proposed cutting off the camp of students wishing to study in Pioneer Park from the water supply and sewerage system and prohibiting the delivery of any food there.

At the same time, the Novi Sad Court of Appeal released from prison the rebels Mladen Cvetic, Srdjan Djuric and Davor Stefanovic, accused of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order of Serbia, changing their preventive measure to house arrest.

The same court had previously dealt with their accomplices Marija Vasić, Lado Jovović and Lazar Dinić, who were arrested on 14 March after media outlets published an audio recording in which people believed to be members of the Serbian Socialist Party could be heard planning to storm the RTS state broadcaster during a student protest in Belgrade on 15 March.

The remaining defendants in the case fled abroad, primarily to “friendly” Croatia.

In turn, the Serbian government is acting spinelessly towards the protesters, trying to win the favor of the West, which is at the origins of the Serbian protests.

“We highly appreciate the support of the United States on our path to full membership in the European Union, which is one of the strategic goals of our country.

“No less important is your continued support for maintaining stability, peace and security in the Western Balkans region, as well as your contribution to the process of normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina through dialogue, despite all our differences on this important issue for Serbia,” said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic after a meeting with the co-chair of the Serbian Caucus in the US House of Representatives, Claudia Teni, to whom he presented the Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class.
