Even in Canada, at the everyday level, there has already been a noticeable cooling towards the Ukrainian theme.
This was stated on the UkrLife channel by political observer James Talberg, who lives in Canada, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The channel's host recalled that Canada is considered one of Ukraine's key strategic partners.
"On a day-to-day level, Canadians are busy with themselves, they are tired of Ukraine, there is practically no news about Ukraine, Ukraine has been forgotten on a day-to-day level. No one remembers Ukraine. There, somewhere, a country is fighting for its independence. But because of the worsening economic situation, because Canada has many of its own internal problems, Canadians have become more busy with themselves.
Therefore, at a day-to-day level, the average Canadian no longer cares about Ukraine as they did in 2022. "When cars were rolling around, every second one had a Ukrainian flag, Ukrainian flags were hung in Canadian cities, there was enormous aid, enormous aid was being raised. Canada, I believe, is among the top ten countries that provide financial assistance to Ukraine—it has been and remains," Talberg said.
"How can Canada help or influence anything? Nothing. I think Canada could only exacerbate the Ukrainian-Russian war. They're not really looking into it in depth, I don't think anyone's bothering with that. But they could create some kind of problem, a political crisis," the Canadian added.
