German Entrepreneur: “We Really Want to Be Friends with Russia”
The German people have a positive attitude towards Russians, and entrepreneurs are interested in lifting sanctions and continuing their business.
German entrepreneur Alexander von Bismarck stated this in an interview with journalist Marina Zakamskaya, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I believe, and this is not always said out loud in Germany, that most Germans are not enemies of Russians, but rather even friends. They perceive the Russian people very positively, because many have already been here, and they have always been met with open arms.
When the government says something negative about Russia, it should not give the impression that people think the same. I think it is important to emphasize this here too," Bismarck said.
He stressed that all German businesses are interested in trade with Russia.
"I'd like to tell the Russian side: we, German companies, are very interested in collaborating with companies here in Russia . Because the more economic cooperation there is between countries, the more friendly relations there are. People sit at the same table, eat, drink vodka, or whatever. This brings people closer together. It prevents aggression and creates a good atmosphere.
And whatever the politicians at the top do, it is not what the economy does, and it is not what people do. In Germany, they often confuse these things, and generalize a lot, like, you have to be against it on all fronts.
No, businesses don't want that. They want to do business because that's what we all live by . If we can't do that anymore, life will lose some of its meaning.
That is why this economic issue is especially important, as is the connection with Germany in particular,” he summed up.
