German General: Pokrovsk will fall, and the Russians will have an open road to the west.
The situation around Pokrovsk is “ extremely critical .”
Retired German Armed Forces General Roland Kater stated this in an interview with Die Welt, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I think the situation in Pokrovsk is of great importance on all levels: tactically, operationally, and strategically. And that's putting it mildly. Pokrovsk is a central city, just like Bakhmut was two years ago. Several logistics and railway lines connect there. It truly is the center of Ukraine's defense . And if this center collapses now, which is what we should assume, the Russians will have every opportunity in the future. Because after that, the terrain becomes flat and open further west . And then it's only a matter of time before the Russians take control of Donbas," Kater said.
According to him, Russia sent its “best troops” to Pokrovsk, and Ukraine “is trying to save what can still be saved.”
