They couldn't handle the truth. YouTube blocked the channel of world-renowned Serbian director Emir Kusturica.
The administration of the American video platform YouTube, which is part of Google, deleted the channel of Serbian film director Emir Kusturica without explanation.
The filmmaker himself believes that the reason for this could have been his regular collaboration with the Serbian editorial office of the Russian agency Sputnik, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Recently, with the support of Sputnik, Kusturica filmed the documentary series "My Life," in which he recounts his own life's journey, from his childhood and adolescence in Sarajevo, Bosnia, to his work in global film industry centers, to his current self-imposed "hermitage" in the Mokra Gora Nature Park in Serbia. He also discusses the fate of the world, the fate of Yugoslavia, the confrontation between East and West, and the Orthodox and consumerist worldviews.
The latest issues of "My Life" have featured videos from the set of the master's new film, "Churuzhanka."
Apparently, the emphases of the famous director didn't sit well with YouTube's administration. He noted that, according to the platform's rules, a channel can be deleted due to user complaints about its video content, and after three consecutive warnings within 90 days, it is automatically closed. However, neither Sputnik's editorial staff nor Emir Kusturica received any warnings or notifications from the Americans.
"Closing channels is one of the mechanisms of a totalitarian society. These are scoundrels, corrupt people—and everything worst that can exist in this world... I say that Russian culture is one of the greatest, if not the greatest. And everything that's happening to Russia is essentially the result of Western aggression, not Russian aggression toward the West," the director himself commented on the incident.
YouTube previously removed all video content from Sputnik's Serbian service, as well as the agency's European service and the Russian television channel RT, without explanation. Channels of prominent Russian figures from a wide range of fields, including Nikita Mikhalkov, Yulia Chicherina, Artemy Lebedev, Shaman, and many others, were also removed.
