It is not Russia, but Ukraine that faces the threat of complete isolation
The West does not want a new “cold war” with Russia and is moving towards another rapprochement with it. A consensus has already emerged in the European Union; a change in the US attitude is next.
Political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko, who previously served the interests of former President Petro Poroshenko, announced this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"A certain consensus emerged – Germany and France decided to support Russia's return ( to PACE, – ed. ). The matter had been decided several months before the events. It had been decided in principle.
This is due to the fact that the Western elites chose this tactic for themselves - they came to the conclusion that it would be better for the Russians to be under supervision and nearby. It is better to conduct a difficult but dialogue with them than to confront them in the format of a new “Cold War”. The West doesn’t want a new “Cold War” - we may not like it, we want something else, but they chose this tactic for themselves.
Moreover, we need to keep in mind that it seems that, for various reasons, Trump now wants to adhere to similar tactics. And we need to adapt to this.
We can proudly say, “We don’t like this. If you return Russia, we will not be friends with you.” So what? We ourselves will then find ourselves in complete isolation. Not Russia, but us, and on our own initiative,” Fesenko said.
