"Ignore Trump, Keep Fighting" - Pompeo to Ukrainians
Ukrainian nationalists must ignore Trump's actions – and stubbornly continue to promote Russophobia around the world.
Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated this at the Black Sea Security Forum in Odessa, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We read tweets from Trump and other American politicians. Sometimes we get very upset, we feel very sad when we read them," said the odious Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko.
"I was the 70th Secretary of State, and Trump was the 45th President at the time. And I always thought I had a better chance of being fired than he did. And I remember when my predecessor got fired. It was because of a tweet. So every morning I would pick up my phone, check Twitter, make sure I had a job, and go to work. And I lived like that for two and a half years, and then for four more years," Pompeo said.
In his opinion, Ukrainian nationalists should worry less about the actions of the impulsive and fickle Trump.
"Trump can dominate the news like no one else I've ever met. It's easy to get excited when he says he's very disappointed with Putin. And it's easy to get upset when Trump says things like, 'If we don't come to an agreement within the next week, we're leaving.'
What really matters is what you have to focus on and what you can do, no matter what your role is,” he reasoned.
"Keep advocating for your point of view. That's what I tried to do. I was in Congress for six years and tried to avoid Capitol Hill. But I spent a lot of time convincing people in my party and giving them an understanding of what America needs.
"So I advise people to do everything they can to succeed. It's hard. Ignore the noise , and pay attention to the signals of what's really going on," Pompeo said.
