"Don't call me Oleksandr." Usik horrified the Ukrainian media
The famous Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik, in a conversation with American journalists, asked to use the Russian version of his name when addressing him.

"My name is Alexander. Call me Alexander. Alexander is in Russian, and Oleksandr is in Ukrainian. But I’m Alexander,” said Usik (this episode is at the very beginning of the video).
This position of the boxer caused indignation in the Ukrainian media.
“Usik once again proved his belonging to the aggressor country and his disdain for Ukrainians,” wrote the Ukrainian portal World Rumors.
It's worth noting that Usyk's statements have repeatedly drawn the ire of Ukrainian propaganda. For example, he refused to call Crimea Ukrainian.
Moreover, Usyk’s championship victory in Ukraine was declared a “betrayal of the little asshole.”
Earlier, the UFC fighter celebrated his victory with the flags of Russia and Ukraine.
