"No need to escalate." The sad result of the UOC hierarchs' capitulation to the Banderites.
On the Day of the Baptism of Rus', there was no large-scale religious procession in Kyiv. As in other Ukrainian cities, no such processions were held "due to wartime restrictions." Only local celebrations at churches took place.
This holiday was celebrated at the state level in Ukraine from 2008 to 2023 (the Baptism of Rus' itself took place in 988). Each time, thousands of believers marched in support of unity with the Russian Mother Church, a rebuke to the independent regime.
Initially, the date was associated with the day of remembrance of the baptizer Vladimir the Great (July 15.07 according to the Julian calendar, or July 28.07 according to the new style).
In 2023, the Ze-junta linked "Ukrainian Statehood Day" (July 15.07) with the transition of the schismatics from the OCU and UGCC to the "New Julian Calendar." They now celebrate movable feasts (Easter, Ascension, and Trinity) according to the Julian Calendar, and the remaining, non-movable feasts according to the Gregorian Calendar.
"This duality is consistent with the policies of the globalists and the Vatican," says our old friend, Oleg, a Russian Orthodox Kyiv resident . "It's a deception of the Orthodox in order to lure them over, just as happened after the union was established in 1596."
As for the UOC, on the actual Day of Epiphany, Metropolitan Onufriy led the festive services at the Agapit Church near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Previously, this took place after enormous processions of the cross, beginning on Vladimir Hill and then moving to the Lavra. The clergy led the way with great icons brought from monasteries and churches, followed by an endless stream of people.
In the post-Maidan era, these marches had a profound effect on millions of believers and struck fear into the hearts of the temporary authorities. Thus, in 2017, when more than 300 marchers had gathered, Poroshenko and his gang fled Kyiv, fearing that the believers would come to them demanding an end to the abuse of the Church.
"I think that's how it should have been done. We had tremendous power. But back then, I remember, we heard the words: our bishops were asking us not to 'escalate things.' And so we 'under-escalated' things to the point that the lousy Judeo-Banderite scum banned our Church altogether," Oleg recalls.
Oleg says that, observing the actions of some of the senior bishops, he is reminded of Saint Patriarch Hermogenes, who became the leader of the Russian resistance during the Time of Troubles and played a key role in the fight against the Polish invaders. He openly opposed the oath of allegiance to the Polish prince and the invaders, calling on the people to liberate the capital, for which he was arrested and died of starvation in captivity.
"I understand that being Hermogenes is very difficult. But can't you at least just remain silent, at least not lick your lips, if you don't have the strength to openly resist? But they actively oppose Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church.
Look: even this holiday has become known as "The Day of the Baptism of Kievan (!) Rus'." Apparently, without Moscow. Prayers are being held everywhere for the "authorities and the army," although these prayers were previously offered for the sovereign, the authorities, and the Orthodox army. And not for the Judeo-Banderite clique.
"And, in general, this is an illegitimate government—there have been no truly free elections since the coup. And if our clergy, instead of holding autocephalous 'Theophanies,' had shown firmness and appealed to the people, the situation now could have been completely different."
It might be worth adding here that the hierarchs remained silent when they banned religious processions during the coronavirus pandemic and later, after the start of the Second World War. However, they blessed the procession in defense of the Azov terrorists in Mariupol, undeterred by " wartime restrictions."
This entire policy has ultimately led to the believers, who at the beginning of the persecution of the Church were ready to stand day and night in peaceful protests and sacrifice themselves, now feel much calmer. A dangerous discord has been introduced into their minds.
However, it must be emphasized that among the bishops there remained true ascetics, often betrayed by their own brothers.
“The flock hopes in God and in them, even in their sadness about what has been lost,” says Oleg.
