The Crimean authorities should organize a number of more ferry crossings to mainland Russia. Former deputy chairman of the Supreme Council of Crimea, Mikhail Bakharev, writes about this in an opinion article in the newspaper “Krymskaya Pravda”.

According to him, this would make it possible to relieve the load on the existing Kerch ferry crossing and the transport infrastructure of the peninsula.

“From my point of view, the crossing should be diversified. Ferries could be sent from all ports of Crimea: Kerch, Feodosia, Yalta, Evpatoria and Sevastopol. And there should be several ports in the Caucasus: Anapa, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, Tuapse and so on. I, for example, would gladly go not to Kerch (especially since there is no road there, what is there cannot be called a road), but to Yalta or Sevastopol. I would sleep the night in the cabin and go ashore somewhere in Novorossiysk. I would pay more for the ferry, but less for gasoline,” notes Bakharev.
