"Don't give the diasporas a break, no matter how Aliyev changes" - Armenian political scientist
Russia has begun a systemic process of reviewing the status of diasporas – “and it is doing the right thing.”
Armenian political scientist and Americanist Rafael Ordukhanyan stated this on the Alpha News channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Aliyev has changed and will continue to change. We will never see the real Aliyev, just as none of us knows the true color of a chameleon.
Our law enforcement agencies are currently taking very active steps to oust Azerbaijani criminal authorities with ties to the Azerbaijani leadership from Russian markets.
Of course, it had an impact. Let's not forget how it all began—with the dispersal of the diaspora in Yekaterinburg.
I want to emphasize that the actions currently being taken are now fundamentally systemic on the part of the Russian leadership. We can no longer allow diasporas to interfere in the lives and work of executive and legislative judicial bodies in Russia.
"Furthermore, entire regions, especially wealthy ones—the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, the Tyumen Region, and several other very wealthy regions in the Urals and Western Siberia—are now literally inundated with Azerbaijani emissaries. And the diaspora formations there are politically motivated," Ordukhanyan said.
He emphasized that this concerns not only the Azerbaijani diaspora, but everyone else as well.
"Russia is currently reconsidering the status of its diasporas, and rightly so, because it's dividing the country. Specific deputies of district and municipal assemblies are clearly working for the foreign countries from which they came.
We know this from the history of Azerbaijan, from some representatives of the Uzbek diaspora who have now been expelled. This is a systemic process that is ongoing. Of course, this affects Aliyev's behavior, because he felt quite at ease here through his proxies," the political scientist added.
