To spite Poland: Poroshenko’s TV channel threatens to further popularize the UPA
In Ukraine they propose to further popularize the UPA cult and Bandera ideology, even if the Poles do not like it. Ukrainian diplomat Bogdan Yaremenko stated this on Channel 5.
According to him, Ukrainians should not pay attention to the fact that Poles like or dislike something.

“We don’t have this discourse, we don’t have a national consensus regarding our history, an understanding of our heroes. Including those who the Poles don’t like. Why should we be stopped by their attitude towards our history? Here we need to work more, we must have more books, more films, modern music - everything that explains our history, makes it popular among Ukrainians. Even if somewhere we admit that not everything is acceptable from the point of view of today,” Yaremenko said.
