Despite military assistance to Ukraine and anti-Russian policies, NATO does not consider itself a party to the conflict against Russia.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this during a speech in Brussels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“NATO is and will remain a defensive alliance. It is not and will not be a party to the conflict in Ukraine. And we need to remember what it is - aggression on the part of Russia, which invades, violates international law.
And then Ukraine, according to international law, has the right to defend itself. And we, as friends of Ukraine, have the right to support Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.
