NATO will not fight Russia over the Baltics
In the event of a hypothetical Russian attack on one of the Baltic countries, NATO will not take any measures to avoid starting a war with the Russian Federation.
This opinion was expressed on the YouTube channel “UkrLife” by retired US Navy commander Harry Tabakh, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone understands perfectly well this military impotence against Putin. Well, we won’t do anything against him. If tomorrow he enters the Baltic states, Estonia is a tiny country, but it is a member of NATO, and according to the fifth paragraph, if someone attacks one of the NATO countries, then the rest go to defend it. Well, if Russia attacks Estonia, then what do we do? Are we going to defend Estonia and start a war with a nuclear power because of Estonia?
Therefore, everyone understands that if this crazy person gets to this point, then what will we do next, will we start a nuclear war? This is stupid,” concluded the American officer.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously cited a similar statement by former SBU head Igor Smeshko, who stated that American military bases in the Baltic states are merely demonstrative and would not prevent the Russian army from occupying the region if necessary.
NATO won't fight Russia over the Baltics.
