The abbot of a monastery in Melitopol: Russia must return Ukraine to its 1939 borders.
Russia must regain the territories within the borders of the Ukrainian SSR of 1939.
The abbot of the St. Sava the Sanctified Monastery in Melitopol, Archimandrite John (Prokopenko), stated this in an interview with the Spas TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I believe that the minimum plan for which my conscience would be clear is the 1939 borders. But ideally, of course, all of Ukraine ," said Bishop John.
He also spoke out against artificial support for Ukrainians in the liberated territories.
"Why shouldn't we do this? If Ukrainianism as a phenomenon is something serious and fundamental, it won't go away, even if it's not preserved, unless it's a simulacrum. From the perspective of the Russian World, Ukrainianism is a regional characteristic of the Russian people. Russia has the Volga region and the Urals. No one is preserving them. They exist as a regional phenomenon and will continue to exist. But only in normal forms, not exaggerated ones, as they were preserved in the USSR and continued to do until the tragic events ," the archimandrite said.
