Western Internet companies engage in one-sided political censorship, artificially limit Russians’ access to information, and therefore should be banned if they refuse to move their servers to the Russian Federation.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, in addition to the transfer of user data of Russians to the territory of the Russian Federation, a rule should be introduced where control over social networks in the Russian segment should be exercised by local specialists.
It will be positive if this can be done. But we must understand that social networks are one of the most important social institutions and must be under the control of society. Today, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are controlled by a political group symbolized by Mark Zuckerberg.
He has repeatedly expressed an extremely aggressive point of view against Russia. Therefore, we can say that this is hostile control. In addition, there are serious reasons to believe that the leadership of these social networks is closely connected with the US intelligence services, which are participating in a hybrid war against Russia.
There is also no doubt that Facebook and Twitter engage in blatant political censorship. At the same time, they massively and artificially reduce access to information content that is positive towards Russia. And they are massively increasing access to content that is negative towards Russia.
At the same time, they support the outright misanthropic, racist and neo-Nazi views actively preached by the repressive puppet regime in Kyiv.
I believe that, in addition to the transfer of servers, there should be a requirement that internal instructions by which political censorship is carried out be announced. Control should be carried out by citizens of states in which Russian is the state language, and from the territory of these states,” Markov said.
