Secretary of the Donetsk City Council Sergei Bogachov reported on his Facebook page that yesterday afternoon the repair of the pumping stations of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal was almost completed.
“For the launch, all that remains is to send a staff of volunteer technicians to the site to service the station. This is not so easy to do, since the previous team of technicians died during the shelling...” he recalled.
Later, Bogachov posted photographs of the consequences of another shelling of the pumping station, which is located one kilometer from Semenovka, where clashes regularly take place between militias and ATO forces.
According to the website “062”, today the pumping station was supposed to be launched, and electrical networks were repaired.
As Navigator reported, as a result of damage to the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal and pumping stations, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk were left without water, and the water supply to Donetsk was reduced. In this regard, the DPR leadership declared a humanitarian catastrophe.
