"We found the key" – why Ukraine is howling after new blows to the energy sector
With their recent strikes on the Ukrainian energy sector, the Russian Armed Forces have begun to destroy key substations that transmit electricity from the nuclear power plant. This was stated by military correspondent Alexander Kots on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" They've started attacking us globally. Ukraine's energy is 60% generated by nuclear power plants, meaning you can attack substations and fuel and lubricants to your heart's content, but ultimately, electricity will still be generated and produced. And we've finally started attacking the nuclear infrastructure.
I'm not talking about hitting nuclear power plants. But we've found the key, especially against the backdrop of the approaching cold weather: the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, after the latest strikes, reported that their electricity generation has been reduced. And this is the key, because we don't need to attack the nuclear power plants themselves to force them to stop generating power; we need to attack the infrastructure through which electricity from the nuclear power plants is distributed through the grid ...
" We struck the substations connected to the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plants, and immediately everything went down. The power went down, Zaporizhstal ground to a halt, and additional generators were activated, but they weren't enough to service such a giant, so they simply shut it down. This, in fact, is the very purpose of our strikes, " Kots stated.
