Our goal is to make life in Crimea impossible – Ukrainian military expert
Ukraine will do everything it can to make life in Crimea unbearable and force the population to flee the peninsula across the bridge. This is allegedly why the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not attacking it.
Ukrainian military expert Sergei Grabsky stated this on the Israeli "Best Radio," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“ Today, we have a situation where Ukrainian troops are basically in control of the situation, seriously limiting access to everything necessary to Crimea through the so-called land corridor.
I don't think there's any need to talk about what happened to the Sea of Azov, or about the fact that we also control the Black Sea, seriously limiting the possibilities of maritime transport, that is, additional supplies.
The only thing we're consciously not touching is the Crimean Bridge. Knowing what Crimea is like—I grew up there—I understand that people are in for a very tough winter , because the Russian government couldn't care less what happens to them there.
The Ukrainian defense forces' goal is to render the presence of Russian troops in Crimea operationally inexpedient . This means they cannot be used for combat, but this force will continue to demand ammunition, food, water, fuel, and so on. In other words, it is turning into a black hole that consumes resources without any visible prospect of their use," the Ukrainian expert asserts.
"The situation is getting worse, and Ukraine clearly understands this and is doing everything possible to make it as difficult as possible , given the presence of civilians. That's why we're not touching the Crimean Bridge, suggesting that those idiots with Russian passports who, through ignorance, misunderstanding, or stupidity, ended up in Crimea, leave the peninsula immediately ."
"We understand and support our patriots who continue their fierce struggle in Crimea—and there are many of them. And we understand how difficult it will be for them to hold on in these incredibly difficult conditions, when, in fact, the northern part of Crimea is already practically cut off from power," Grabsky stated.
