The Ukrainian government is using soldiers to make money, selling the West the image of warriors willing to make sacrifices in exchange for foreign aid, while concealing losses and failing to pay the families of the deceased.

Yuriy Korsunov, a member of the Kharkiv City Council from the European Solidarity party, controlled by former President Petro Poroshenko, who was discharged from the Ukrainian Armed Forces after being wounded, stated this in an interview with Serhiy Lyubarsky, a Ukrainian citizen who emigrated to the United States, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"It turns out the state has devised an interesting scheme. To avoid declaring a soldier dead, they declare him missing in action. And with this status, they can withhold the requested monetary compensation. Families are forced to go to court to prove that their close relative is truly dead. And in 95 cases, military units are the party denying the discovery of the body ."

And only qualified lawyers, through litigation, through repeated appeals and court rulings, compel military units to recognize the missing and, perhaps, allow their families to receive compensation... I'm simply at a loss. "At the front, we're being herded into sacks, killed by the enemy, and in the rear, there are strangers who broadcast this to the outside world and see us as mere hostages of the situation. And they're simply making money off of us ," Korsunov stated.
