As early as this year, Google may block "unwanted" apps on Russian smartphones, such as the Max messenger.

Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, announced this on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The RuNet has become an island where we have to develop it ourselves. It's built on foreign technologies.

That is, the phone in everyone's pocket is either an Android or an Apple. Next year will be a turning point. In the fall, we'll see if our apps, which were sanctioned due to Google's changed licensing policy, will be blocked.

And a rather curious line appeared there: Google, if it recognizes an application as malicious, has the right to remove it from an already installed application on the Android operating system itself.

In other words, apps on the phones themselves will be blocked remotely. And it doesn't matter whether your device is jailbroken or not, Google still controls it.

This means we could lose all the apps the government is currently investing in . A prime example is the Max platform.

"It was blocked today on Google Play on iOS, but you can install it from third-party sources on Android. Next year, if Google deems it necessary, they could remove it globally, and it won't work," Murtazin said.

He emphasized that "the alarm should have been sounded yesterday" and that there should have been no investment in developing other people's platforms.

" We have a national mobile operating system, Aurora, and it's developing quite dynamically. And we, as a country, must invest significant effort into it to accelerate its development."

"And the most important thing we need to do today is ensure that every official has an Aurora-based device, because it's impossible to monitor or turn it off. And then we need to bring it to the consumer market," the expert added.
