Nationalists destroyed the memorial plaque to Marshal Zhukov in Kyiv

Nationalists smashed a memorial plaque to Marshal Georgy Zhukov in Kyiv, Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk reported on his Facebook page.

He called Zhukov a “Ukrainophobe” and complained that the police initially detained the nationalists, but then released them, allegedly after hearing arguments that the act of vandalism was carried out in accordance with Petro Poroshenko’s decree to combat communist ideology.

A memorial plaque to Zhukov was installed on the avenue of the same name in Kyiv's Desnyansky district. It had previously been repeatedly attacked by nationalists.
