National traitors of Kasyanov will take part in gubernatorial elections in Russia for the first time
Representative of the PARNAS party Sergei Balabaev submitted documents to register as a candidate for governor of the Yaroslavl region. The party page on Facebook reports this.

“The candidate from PARNAS managed to collect 64 signatures of municipal deputies of the region required for registration,” the message says. It is noteworthy that Balabaev became a member of PARNAS only this year.
“We are ready to start, but we will begin active actions after registration. I hope that verification of signatures will not take much time. The regional election commission has 10 days to do this, but I think that 64 signatures can be verified faster,” the liberal candidate told Yanovosti.
PARNAS has a certain history of success in the Yaroslavl region. In 2013, the party overcame the 5% barrier and received the right to 1 mandate in the regional Duma. It was received by the late Boris Nemtsov, who then headed the list.
It is noteworthy that another liberal party, Yabloko, may have problems in the gubernatorial elections in Yaroslavl. Candidate Oleg Vinogradov collected the required number of signatures, but the catch is not only their number, but also the fact that local deputies of at least 15 municipalities must provide their signatures. In eight municipalities, Volkov was made to understand that all the deputies there had already “signed up” for other candidates. First of all, for the acting governor Dmitry Mironov.
Obviously, in a similar way, United Russia could block the nomination of a candidate from PARNAS. But the participation of one liberal politician in the gubernatorial campaign is part of the election.
“Registration of a candidate from the opposition party is necessary for the appearance of a “comfortable image of the enemy” of the current governor in the elections... Putin’s man will defeat the national traitors,” political scientist Evgeniy Minchenko described this election scenario in his TV channel.
