The head of Lviv customs was detained for a bribe of 60 thousand dollars

In Lvov, law enforcement officers detained the head of the Interregional Customs Department of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine for a bribe of 60 thousand 520 dollars and 10 thousand hryvnia.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko reported this on his Facebook page.

“Today, the military prosecutor’s office of the Lviv garrison, together with operational employees of the Economic Protection Directorate of the National Police, as part of control under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code, detained the head of the department of the Interregional Customs of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine while receiving the next monthly collection of unlawful benefits from officials of the Lviv customs in the amount of 60520 US dollars and 10 thousand UAH,” Lutsenko wrote.

He also notes that this position was created by the central office of the State Fiscal Service specifically to combat corruption of local customs officers.

“The military prosecutor’s office proved that both the former and the latter collect bribes. The government must implement systemic changes throughout the customs service,” added the Prosecutor General.
