The National Bank received 11 kg of copper under the guise of gold, – Ministry of Internal Affairs
Odessa, December 26 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – There was no theft of gold from the Odessa department of the National Bank of Ukraine: according to the official version of the investigation, there was theft of money from the state budget.

This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Odessa region, Ivan Katerynchuk, reports Vikna-Odesa.
Katerynchuk explained that under the guise of gold, 11 kg of “similar metal” were handed over to the NBU. The attackers received more than 5 million UAH. A CCTV camera was installed in the room where precious metals were accepted, but due to the poor resolution, it is impossible to understand whether the deposit was gold or copper. The device used to cut the metal was seized and an examination is being carried out.
The investigation names a former department employee as the organizer of the criminal scheme. On November 1, he left by train for Simferopol. A statement from the National Bank about the theft of gold was received on November 19.
Let us recall that on December 19, First Deputy Chairman of the NBU Alexander Pisaruk, reporting that the institution was refusing to buy precious metals from the population, mentioned: the decision was made in connection with the detection of gold theft in the Odessa department.
